We generally make a card over the holidays to give out to really a small number of family units. It’s always fun and usually a little cynical and it’s a good opportunity to gripe about the consumerism, entitlement and imposingness of Christmas culture.
For an added touch we got out our 1945 Remington typewriter to type on the inside.
This year, we had a few different versions. One version was about a the commercial creation contribution to the modern Santa Claus. Below is an ad by the White Rock Beverage Company from the 1920’s. Our understanding is that they still argue with Coke over who was more responsible for having made shaped the image of the modern Santa Claus.
